The Pan Albanian American Congress (PAAC) met with the Actin President of the Democratic Party of Kosova, Dr. Enver Hoxhaj.
Dr. Hoxhaj commended PAAC’s creation and stated that it’s voice is essential in Washington. Dr. Hoxhaj informed the Board Members of his meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Mathew Palmer and stated that he welcomed the U.S. role in the dialogue process especially in light of the fact that the completion of Kosova’s statehood has been impeded over
the last 7 years.
Dr. Hoxhaj further stated that it is vital that Kosova’s statehood be completed during the Biden Administration and that PAAC has an important role in that regard. He expressed concerns that if vigorous diplomacy is not brought to bear, Kosova may continue to drift without a final resolution for years to come and warned of the possibility that it may end up as a territorial entity rather than a fully recognized state. PAAC urged the PDK leader to cooperate with the government regarding the dialogue process and Dr. Hoxhaj replied that the PDK would do so providing that there were specifics to discuss and a formal platform prepared. PAAC and Dr. Hoxhaj committed to continuing to communicate and work together in the future.
